Writer's Block.

I have the worst case of stress-related writer's block known to man at this point in time.
I am physically unable to write anything worthwhile, and it's devouring my soul.
Suggestions for how to beat it?
Anyone?

  1. Write things that aren't worthwhile. Write something every day, even if you hate it, even if it makes you hate yourself as a writer. Because one day sooner or later, something will come out that you actually do like.

I've found for me, the biggest thing that perpetuates writer's block is the fact that I just don't want to do any writing; but not doing any writing just makes you MORE out of practice and the things you do eventually write even WORSE.

    So write write write.

    That is my advice.

  2. start a fresh new writer's-block specific story, of people doing mundane things, then twist it into something awesome and random with much self-effacing humor.

but if that doesn't work for you my biggest suggestion is -- check out inspiring arts and read inspiring stories. key here is infection...you'll get itchy to write something

  3. I would recommend eating something random and unusual right before bed, then write down the resulting dream the next morning and working it into a story (I used to do this but I didn't need to eat anything weird)
